Performing Arts Academy
PAA
What it is:
The Performing Arts Academy (PAA) is a space for students to explore their creativity and develop their talents in acting, singing, and dancing. It's a fun and supportive environment where you can learn new skills, build confidence, and collaborate with others who share your passion for the performing arts. Every year PAA puts on a large-scale production in our multi-million-pound school theatre, The Platform. Previous shows include: Aladdin, Fame, Annie, Guys & Dolls, High School Musical and Oliver. In addition to putting on our own productions, we often take PAA members to the West End in London to take part in dance workshops and attend performances.
When it is:
PAA happens every Tuesday and Thursday after school until 5pm.
Who is involved:
PAA is open to students of all experience levels, whether you're a seasoned performer or just starting out. We welcome anyone with an enthusiasm for the performing arts! The most important attributes we look for are commitment and a love of performing arts.
How to sign up / speak to, to show interest:
At the beginning of each academic year in September, Miss Pappin will communicate information about the PAA auditions to each of the year hubs. These only happen once a year. They are always open, group auditions in acting, singing and dancing. The auditions focus on your aptitude, not just your current ability. We are an inclusive group with a focus on commitment above all else. If you would like more information on how to get involved, speak to Miss Pappin who will be happy to answer any questions.
