Greenpower Motorsport
What it is:
Greenpower is a Motorsport Association recognised series where children between 11-16 compete inschool designed, school built, single seater pure electric racing cars. They gain direct engineering skills as well as soft skills, including team work, resilience and commitment. Each year we race at fantastic venues including Goodwood, Silverstone, Castle Combe and Dunsfold Park, the home of Gear.
When it is:
Greenpower is currently run on Tuesdays and Fridays after school, depending on which car you are linked to. Races take place on Sundays through British Summer Time (BST).
Who is involved:
Greenpower is open to children who study Engineering or Product Design at GCSE. No previous motorsport knowledge or experience is required. We are keen to develop a ‘Motorsport Team’ rather than a driver’s club, we encourage children to take on roles such as Race Director, Communications Lead and Journalist, amongst others.
Benefits of joining the Greenpower Motorsport team:
As well as enjoying learning whilst taking part in this amazing opportunity, the benefits can be far reaching. In recent years alumni have gained apprenticeships at prestigious car dealerships, and gone on to study a wide array of related competitive degrees such as Motorsport Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Design. We seek every opportunity to provide outstanding opportunities and have run extremely successful fully funded excursions to the USA on multiple occasions.
